If you are not able to access an old return in TurboTax, you can always request a Tax Return Transcript from the IRS. Click here to request your transcript. If you had a state return, please reply back with the state so we can research the method for obtaining a state transcript.
The IRS only provides tax returns up to seven years old. After that I'm not sure. Maybe you have to pay.
@rzadigi No----after seven years it is gone. The moral of the story is if you think you even "might" want a copy of a tax return someday, SAVE it before it is too late.
SAVE YOUR TAX RETURN !
EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.
