How do I save in-progress (free online) 2019 return to .tax file to shift to the desktop version? The docs say use the "Tool Center", but that option doesn't appear.

Thanks, saw it. Can't get past the first step because there isn't a "Tool Center" option in the left nav. Is that because I'm in the free version? Seems counter-productive as I've purchased the desktop version and would like to use it...

Click on TAX TOOLS, then TOOLS on the left-side menu.

 A big, blue pop-up window opens, titled 'Tools Center'.

What is on the Tax Home screen?  You have to be inside your return.  Click on Add a State to let you back into your retun.

@lolmyself You have to be accessing the 2019 online tax return for the lefts side column to populate with the Tax Tools link.

If when you sign onto your online account and do NOT see the Take me to my return button, then scroll down and click on Add a state.  That will take you back to the 2019 online tax return.

You have to click on 'Take Me to My Return' to see the Tax Tools option.

Finally the music. I was in the tax return, but for some reason the left nav didn't show the year and sub options until I used the navigation icons to go into a specific detail of the form. Kinda lame on my part, but I won't take all the UX blame...I managed to fill out my entire return, log in and out, and this menu never showed up.
