How can I fix my federal tax return that was rejected because I can’t find the section where I can check off that I can be claimed as dependent on another return file?

F1040-516-01 - If Form 1040, 'PrimaryClaimAsDependentInd' is not checked, then 'PrimarySSN' must not be the same as a Dependent SSN on another return filed for the same tax year. I understand the problem but can’t find the section where to fix this.

Click your name in MY INFO and go through the screens to the questions about whether you can be claimed as someone else's dependent.  Change your answers and then try to re-file.

You can correct the Social Security Number or delete a dependent in My Info.

Log into TurboTax

1. On the left sidebar
2. Select My Info or Personal Info
3. Click the down arrow.
4. You can see your Information
5. And can scroll down to a dependents information
6. You can Edit what you have to here.

Hi thank you for your help! I have tried going to that section a few times to fix it but there is no question on that to check off the box. It asks if I have any dependents but not if someone else can claim me as a dependent.

On the final screenshot you posted, you missed the statement - Another taxpayer can claim me as a dependent on their tax return.
