If I didn’t finish the process with turbo tax does that mean I didn’t file taxes?

You can stop the process at any time, exit the program, it should ask you to save.  You can then come back later and finish.  You do not actually file your taxes until the very end and there is a tab that asks you FILE YOUR RETURN. So until you click that and follow the instructions you have not filed your return.  You can print out your return and review it and save as a PDF prior to filing.

So I’m at the last stage were all I need to do is mail it in, but I don’t want to do that. So my question is, can I go to another company and finish filing there instead of mailing it in through TurboTax. I messed and up amended a false form. It is supposed to be 1040 but it’s. 1040-X and I can change it now. It is claiming that I already mailed in my tax form, but I didn’t and still need to send it in. Help please!

I can’t change it anymore, I tried the links. It takes me to the same response. I am wondering if I can just file with some other company because I’m afraid that my mistake will cost me. I don’t have any forms that is 1040-x, I only have one form type and it’s 1040 and it told me

that I can’t just send the correct form without the amended form (that is incorrect) or it will fail

Have you tried to cancel the amended return by clicking on the Cancel Amend link on the left side of the online program screen?

Since nothing has been filed you can use any other company or software program you wish to complete and file the tax return.
