eFile error?

I'm using Turbotax Home and Business for the Mac - desktop edition.  I filed my Federal tax return online yesterday and received an email from Turbotax that my filing was accepted by the IRS.  However, when I go into the software and check efile status it says that no return has been efiled.  It then takes me to try the efile again and when I do that it says that I have already submitted a return.

 

So I have a conflict between the status reported within the software and the email that says that the return was accepted by the IRS.  

 

Can I rely on the email from Turbotax that my return was successfully filed?

eFile error?

Please reach out to TurboTax Customer Support for assistance. Support will be able to confirm the status of what returns were electronically filed.

eFile error?

I know this is a year later BUT Did you ever get this fixed??? I am working on 2023 and encountering this error. It's making me insane because no one at tech support can help me. I don't know how to fix this... any tips???

Are you using TurboTax online or TurboTax CD/Download?

 

If you are using TurboTax CD/Download, have you tried to check for any updates?

eFile error?

@TiffanyL  I have checked for updates. I have uninstalled, cleaned the MAC, reinstalled. I have used desktop and online versions. I have cleared cookie innumberable times. I have spent over 6 hours total time on the phone with support. And no fix or results. I am getting the same continual error because Turbo Tax (desktop OR online) will not update the rejection message.

 

I know that my Federal and SC state were recieved because 1. I got an email confirming it and 2. I have received my SC refund. I have also confirmed with the IRS that they have my return and are processing it. 

 

This is a Turbo Tax programming issue. I am running a MAC and no one seems to care about fixing this problem.

eFile error?

It's been over a year since I had this problem but I think I remember what happened.

 

I had filed an extension using Turbotax Quick Extension website (I think that's what it is called).  The extension was successfully filed.  But when I went to file the actual tax return, the software said that the return was already filed.  I logged into the IRS website and saw that the extension was there, but no tax return. 

 

For several weeks (and maybe months) I struggled with Turbotax support.  Most support staff didn't understand the issue.  I think it was eventually escalated which resulted in a software update.  After I applied the update, everything worked. 

 

So the issue was actually a backend Turbotax problem where their system (and the software) saw an extension filed but interpreted it as a return.
