I have supported Intuit TurboTax for many years but if I cant get a physical CD for my money I will be supporting another company. I want a CD for my money. If you want to charge me ok, just let it be my decision not your
Maybe you are correct , as I have not looked but I can do them by hand and it will not cost me any thing
For everyone, like @imseeker who wants to install on both Windows and Mac, I looked at my Account.
Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to download to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac).
When I log into my Account and go to Products & Billing all your years are listed. If you click on Licenses and Downloads on 2023, at the top is…..
Need a download or a download for a different operating system (Windows or Mac)? Where you can enter your license code. I suspect it will be the same for 2024. See my screen shot
I currently refuse to use the Download only option. Please continue the CD OPTION

The decision to remove the option for a CD has already been made. There are no other tax preparation software companies providing a CD.
If you want to use tax preparation software you will need to either download the software and install the software on a personal computer or use the online web-based editions.
Have you read this whole thread? All 4 pages? Apparently no other company is selling CDs now. Why do you want the CD?
The Download program is EXACTLY the same Desktop program as the CD. You buy it the same way directly from Turbo Tax or in stores like Costco. When you installed the CD you still had to go online to update it. It's only the method you use to install it. Even when I bought the CD I used the download method to install it.
The confusion people have is that the Online version is NOT the Download program.
Obviously, there are a lot of long-time TurboTax Customers that are dissatisfied with the deep-sixing of the CD option with which they have grown comfortable. It may appear to these loyal customers that this take-it-or-leave-it change is being jammed down their throats. All of the cheerleading witnessed here has not been convincing to many of the skeptics, particularly to those who may have previously tried the on-line product with a resulting bad experience (like myself). Why would Intuit want to drive this important part of its customer base away from its TurboTax product? A basic business school marketing 101 solution is available. Why not simply allay the loyal skeptics by offering a refund of the cost if the former CD customer is NOT satisfied with the perceived new product? I think the vast majority of the CD product fans would agree with this approach.
@wmpyoungx You sound confused. People are getting confused with the Online browser version and the Desktop installed program. The Download program is not the Online version. The Download program is EXACTLY the same Desktop program as the CD. You buy it the same way directly from Turbo Tax or in stores like Costco. When you installed the CD you still had to go online to update it. It's only the method you use to install it. Even when I bought the CD I used the download method to install it.
What "perceived new product?" The desktop download is the same desktop software users have been purchasing for years. The difference is that instead of a plastic CD you install it by downloading it to your hard drive from the get go. When you used a plastic CD, you used the CD initially and then you still had to download every update and the state software. We are not "cheerleading"---we are trying to help other users understand that this is simply not the end of desktop software. It is only the end of installing it by putting a piece of plastic into a disk drive--which many computers no longer have.
Just burn the download file to a CD?
I have no luck in obtaining the tax year 2024 . either via CD or download just either way is
good for me.
