What do you mean by "will not update"?

Are you trying to transfer your 2021 return into the 2022 edition?

If your date of birth indicates that you were 65 or older by the end of the tax year, the return will be on a 1040SR.   But.....the tax forms and the calculations are identical.   The only difference is the size of the print on a 1040SR.  Why are you worried about changing it to or from a 1040SR?

Are you trying to Transfer a 2021 pdf file into 2022?  This says you can only transfer a 1040 pdf file into the Windows Desktop program.   But not from a 1040 SR pdf.

Can I transfer last year's PDF into the 2021 TurboTax for Windows CD/Download software?
