Sorry folks but I do not have any good news. I am one or the originators of this chain. Had a simple individual return that would not efile. No expert on this forum could answer. Spent over 400 minutes on the forum per their stats. Finally solved after an update.
I belive they not only do not want to acknowledge problems, but also keep their staff in the dark.
A simple acknowledgement with offer to inform us when fixed would allay so many frustrations and wasted time for all of us.
Won't happen without new management.
Next year time to try a different program.
I efiled my federal business taxes as many people in here have done as well. But still would like to e file for MD as well. Where the heck is the TT help in the forum? This is a joke. I am NOT using turbo tax next year.
Please see the Form Availability for MD for your product, which could explain why you are not able to e-file your MD return as of right now.
In this public forum, we are provided with form availability information, but not an explanation as to why the form is not available until that date. For additional information, it would be necessary to contact customer support. To do this, please see this Help Article to get in touch with us.
That is a link to forms for individual tax returns. I am completing a "business" tax return.
Thank you for that clarification. See the link here for business form availability for the states.
Just spent 20 minutes waiting, and then 20 minutes with an agent. She could not help at all. She seemed unfamiliar with the business products. She routed the request up to a more senior person, who also wanted to enable remote screen sharing. I told her I could not do that on a business computer. The call ended with her telling me that her supervisor said to call a different number for Turbotax for business (it was the same number I called). So - dead in the water for filing MD Form 510 (partnership return)
TurboTax sent an email that Maryland forms are ready. Went to Business program, updated, showed that some Maryland forms were downloaded, continued to saved return, highlighted e-file Maryland state return since the federal return had already been transmitted and accepted, clicked on transmit return and got the same frickin' message that the system is having difficulty recognizing the data. This is problem is on the State of Maryland. They are dragging their feet and don't have all the documents ready and provided so TurboTax can access them for us to file!
Of those forms the only one I have is the EL101b (which is the form for e-filing). If you delete it it will simply reappear.
The instructions say this form should be saved for your records, and does not need to be e-filed. Perhaps this is the case where TurboTax is trying to shove the EL101b form over to the state of Maryland and it is not being accepted
After looking at the Maryland forms availability and the fact that all the forms have been released, I believe the glitch is on the part of TurboTax. Unfortunately, when you call TurboTax, their so called specialists don’t have a clue what’s going on and are placing the onus on the State of Maryland. I believed that until I saw that all the forms are available. The problem is definitely with the TurboTax Business program. I also use TurboTax Home and Business for my personal returns and was able to E-file both my Federal and Maryland State without any problem. TurboTax needs to fix the problem with the Business program or at least educate their specialists on how to workaround whatever is causing this glitch.
I am having the same issue with the Md form. I'm guessing that the Form FL101B form is preventing the efiling of the Md return because it is an unsupported form. However, whenever I delete it, it reappears! Very frustrating how poorly TT troubleshoots its State returns.
I just now tried efiling again for MD and thought I might of had some luck because the program went thru a series of updates... but surprise surprise! Same error! @HeatherPLO can you at least confirm to us that this is being worked on by someone? I've lost count how long this thread has been going on at this point waiting for answers. It looks like the few individuals above have actually found the error for you guys to fix. Pretty bad when the end users actually figure out what's causing the issue and still TurboTax fails to provide a fix or even an update.
@mneddo12 It’s frustrating trying over and over again to file the Maryland state return, just to get the same message over and over again, especially after updating and seeing the updates relate to Maryland. I needed a break for the weekend, but will resume trying to E-file next week. Hopefully TurboTax will fix the glitch in the program or at least advise us how to work around the problem.
