Several users have reported concerns regarding rejections surrounding charitable contributions for the state of CA. They have also stated that verbiage was received regarding when to come back (a specific date) and fix the issue. Did you receive such notification? in the meantime, I am including a few resources below:
Charitable contributions issue
California contributions state rejection
Fixing a rejected return in Turbo Tax
I received no such message. I have not tried to submit yet. The application will let me enter the adjustment manually. My question is why is it not carried over automatically like every other adjustment.
Your links refer to a 2021 filing season problem when you could claim an above the live charitable contribution. Not relevent to 2022 since the $300 deduction wasn't extended past 2021. For 2022 and beyond, the only way to write off gifts to charity is to itemize. The charitable contributions I have entered are ignored for Fed (because I claim the standard deduction) but should automatically be included in the California adjustments, Why not?????
