You have to tell the software that you were a part year resident of Arizona in the My Info section of the online editions or the Personal Info section of the desktop editions.

When asked for your resident state in those sections you enter your state of residence as of 12/31/2018.  The program asks you if you lived in any other states and you must indicate Yes and then enter the state you moved from and the date you moved to your resident state.

The program will provide you with two state tax returns to complete.  The Arizona tax return should be a Form 140PY and whichever form is used for the other state.

Yes, there is an Arizona Form 140PY - Part-Year Resident Personal Income Form

Go to this Arizona website for the form - https://azdor.gov/forms/2018-individual-tax-forms/form-140py-part-year-resident-personal-income-form

Looking for which TurboTax version includes the 140PY form.  Couldn't find it in Deluxe

All the TurboTax editions support a state tax return.

See this TurboTax website for the supported forms and schedules for Arizona using the TurboTax personal editions - https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_az_online_individual.html

YES, I completely understand all TurboTax versions support state returns.

In TurboTax, when I open my TurboTax Arizona form I can't find, either under Forms or in the step by step process, an option supporting an Arizona part year return.

It needs someone with Arizona loaded in their TurboTax to manually go through it and see if they can find the Arizona part year.

When in Forms Mode you should be able to click on Open Form at the top left of the screen.  Entering 140 should bring up all the iterations of the form 140.

is there an update to this post that reflects the 2025 edition of TT? There is no My Info tab.

My Info is only available when using the TurboTax online web-based editions on the left side of the online program screen.

If you are using the TurboTax desktop editions installed on a personal computer, then you need to click on Personal Info at the top of the desktop program screen.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am using the web-based version. Click on account. Can't post the screenshot of the account info (invalid html, whatever that means). Changed the address in Profile to the new state info but doesn't give any info on partial year state. Is there another place to trigger the state change?

When you are starting a new 2024 tax return you should be signing onto the account with the same User ID that you used to create the original TurboTax account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Entering your personal information on the 2024 tax return, you will be asked to enter your resident state.  This is the state where you resided on 12/31/2024.  Further on you will be asked if you lived in any other states.  If you did live in any other state in 2024 then you should answer YES to the question and enter the date in 2024 that you moved to your resident state.

This is all asked in the My Info section of the online program and when you first start the 2024 tax return.
