we had the same issue...they told us we have to pay again ...which is a rip off...if i have to do that i am filing a law suit... screw it
You should leave your account and enter everything into his paid account. You can clear out your account and abandon it.
You can try to clear It.
I am SO mad. I have 2 accounts. First account had All the tax years before. Then last year there was some problem with the app or website, and I couldn't pay for the deluxe version because I had started on the free version. I basically wanted to give them money to get the deluxe version and I couldn't. So after talking to IT customer service whatever, I was told to just go ahead and create a new account so that I could file tax for 2018. Well, now I have 2 accounts and I want them merged. I don't think wanting to have all your tax documents in ONE place is unreasonable at all. If I don't care about that, I would have just file taxes with different company each year. But I paid, so that all my taxes staying in one place. It is UNACCEPTABLE in this days and age that accounts cannot be merged or linked. If this cannot be resolved, I certainly will need to look elsewhere.
Same here, went all the way through paying for service etc. Then discovered that I actually now have 3!! Accounts. Cant merge the information and;
You have to pay extra $30 to pull up any past information that you filed with them. Storage space is so cheep these days that should be built into the price or at least give you a warning when you start your return.
The comment form @AnnetteB6 the so-called "expert" is the most nonsensical response to this issue that I could ever imagine. But, then again, this person is a tax expert/accountant that deals with this on a daily basis.
I have been in IT for over 20 years so I, like many others, are not idiots! I started a business back in 2019 but have been using TurboTax since 2012. When I upgraded to include my business bottom line while doing my personal taxes and prompted to select the "new" name that Intuit decided to change their TurboTax offering to, I had no idea that I was creating a different account from the one I had been using for SEVEN YEARS!
This was/is unacceptable! Period!
And telling people how to check after the fact is equally unacceptable along with the "Say Thanks" and "Mark as Best Answer" postscripts to him/her/their answer.
Where is my useless/waste of time option?
