Ugh - that doesn’t inspire confidence. I was hoping it was something on their end that they’d fix. I know ours not firewall or antivirus on my end, especially since all my other turbo tax versions connect and download updates just fine.
Never fails - software prices increase and quality falls, with lackluster support.
I was finally able to activate after creating a fresh user on my Mac and installing from that user.
Same for me with Deluxe Federal and State 2024 purchased from Amazon on 1/18/25 and have tried to activate many times. Ran as administrator, same message - not connected to internet. Internet works great for all browsers. Have tried all/most security fixes mentioned in posts, including safe mode with networking, using machines running W10 home and W11pro both 64 bit, same error. This is an Intuit issue, either fix or start refunding costs.
There was a known intermittent connectivity issue around 1/10/25 that has been solved. Since your purchase was after that date, that should not be the problem unless it has returned.
Another user was having a similar issue and successfully resolved it by creating a new user on their Mac. They then did the installation through that new user.
Please share any detailed information about your operating system and version so we may pass it along to the team who can investigate this further.
I understand your question, but don't see its relevance to the issue, but for my primary machine with hard wired ethernet.

I first downloaded and tried to install the program from Amazon when purchased, but also downloaded and tried to install from the intuit site when issues came up with no difference noted.
Linda, it does not matter which OS you are using. It seems it may have worked for some users but it also states that TurboTax was going to fix their Server as this seems to be a continuing problem. They have not fixed their Server if that was the problem in the first place.
I have a new Apple Desktop with the latest macOS Sequoia 15.2 and I have the same problem. I have done everything which was suggested and spoke with TurboTax. They blamed it on Apple but if you review these treads on this problem the problem is definitely caused by TurboTax and not Windows or Apple.
I also thought it might be my downloaded TurboTax 2024 software at first so I ordered the CD for another $11.00 from TurboTax directly but it did the same thing, "No Internet Connection". Funny that I can open the TurboTax 2024 and it will download their latest software Updates to TurboTax 2024 (through my Internet Browser) and install them but the next screen for activation states, "No Internet Connection". TurboTax has a big problem and it appears they are not fixing anything. I think this will be my last year using TurboTax.
If your question is for user79, the program is not activated, The not connected to internet screen comes up as soon as the program tries to open with " To activate your purchase you'll need to connect to the internet. I'm reading that screen while typing this response, connected to the internet.
I have the same issue and also have macOS Sequioa 15.2. Still trying to get some technical help from TT. Last week they blamed Apple. I visit this every couple of days and it’s been over two weeks since I downloaded TT Deluxe 2024.
You will as I have the same problem. Going to try Tech Support at TT tomorrow again.
Today, 1/23 TT Deluxe loaded, updated, activated and appeared to function on my laptop that had the 2023 version installed. I uninstalled all 2024 components, restarted my 2023 version allowing it to update and start. I then shut down 2023, copied my original download file to the laptop and ran the exe file for a successful install and activation. The notable difference I saw was the "not connected screen". This time the box button said OK, I'm connected" not try again. This, in my opinion is not a fix or solution, only something that happened at this time and connected. My primary machine still can't activate the program.
Has anyone figured this out? I have spent hours trying different things and still get the cannot connect to internet message. Very frustrating.
Try adding a new account to your machine. I would not link it to any MS account (local only) and leave only the apps that come up when it's created. If TT shows up on the desktop when the new account is created click on it and follow the prompts, if not install it in the new account. There is no logical reason this should work, but in some cases it has on both MAC and Windows OS. You will have to use the new account for your taxes, but you'll have a year to find new software.
Yes, if you got a new computer and your old computer was 'Jack's Computer' but your new one is 'Jack', adding a new account as @user79 suggests may resolve your issue.
Here's more things to try in Troubleshooting TurboTax Desktop Issues or doing a Manual Update.
