Yes Turbotax messed me up with may State taxes last year, and and I finally got my rebate a year later. This year, it only gave me me the option to fill out a 1040 SR return. I wasn't retired till the end of 2023. so I filled it out. Now the IRS is investigating my return. WHY I will never use turbo tax again. Pathetic.
Some users are reporting that they are not able to view the right side of the screen such as below.
Move the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to access Edit and delete functions.
If you are a Mac user, see @MonikaK1 above.
Thanks for your help. I finally did notice the scroll bar, but it took a while. That problem is solved.
Still having an issue re: entering into TT investment sales not reported on a 1099-B. Not sure why some of the sales were reported on the 1099-B and some weren't. When I check the box for "investment sales not reported on a 1099-B", TT doesn't let me report the cost basis. (I type in X in it always turns it into zero.) I finally decided to enter all investment sales as "reported on a 1099-B". This seems to work. I don't really know what the difference is to the IRS, as long as I'm reporting all the sales info correctly. Seems like a TT glitch?
Accurate reporting of the tax liability is the key. Great job!
That suggested fix didn't work for me with my F1099R-502-02 reject code. I used the Turbo Tax Premium online version and nothing has gotten me back to where I can access my !099R entry to correct the fault! I filed for an extension and it got accepted but when I e-filed got rejected because an error with SS number. Second filing came back rejected with the code mentioned above.
NEW INFO: Finally was able to have the program do what you said, however what wasn't said that worked for me was after clicking SEARCH and typing in my key word/phrase other searches with that combo of letters and numbers populated below and when I clicked on the one I wanted, then the "jump to" phrase highlighted next to my choice and then i was able to click on that and go back and correct my error!

If you have not filed the 2023 tax return you can change anything on the return.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2023 online tax return to make any changes needed before you file the tax return.
@house 1405 If you tell us what you are trying to change we can be more helpful. No one else can see your screen or your return.
I have tried numerous times to change a state address on my uploaded 1099 INT form. I've changed it about 3 times and saved. And turbo tax asked me the city of the payer which I put DETROIT. Then it asked me the zip code which I put in the correct zip code for Michigan (MI). But the program auto loaded CA as the state and this obviously doesn't match. I keep trying to change it but the system won't allow it. I'm at the end and I am trying to file, but it won't let me because of this discrepancy. Now it wants me to file by mail : ( instead of allowing me to eFile. I don't want to pay the extra money to get "tax advice" when it is a program glitch and not about my taxes. Any suggestions?
@cdburnett44 You don’t need to enter the address on a 1099INT. So delete the 1099 and enter it again manually. All you need to enter is the bank name or who paid you and put the amount in box 1.
Enter interest received like a 1099-Int under
Federal Taxes tab (Personal for Home & Business)
Wages & Income
Interest and Dividends
Interest on 1099INT - Click the Start or Update button
TurboTax does not have the Head of household option (only, single, married.). What can I do to choose HOH.
more info: the mom already filed HOH for 2023; and I filed single- now we are amending or 2023 return- so I can choose HOH and she files single.
I am amending my 2023 TR-?There is no head of household option- now what can I do?
@ron_suokko You are posting to a thread that was about a different issue. We do not fully understand what you are trying to do. It seems you and another parent are both trying to amend your 2023 returns so that you can file as HOH for 2023---is that correct?
You cannot "choose" HOH as your filing status. If you enter your status as "single" or "married filing separately" and enter a qualifying dependent, then the software will ask a few more questions and offer you HOH as a filing status.
Am I Head of Household?

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2900097-what-is-a-qualifying-person-for-head-of-household
If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.
We cannot see any of your information so we have no idea if you and the other parent live together with your child or If you live apart. It is important for you to understand that if all of you lived together as a family, then the child can be entered and claimed as a dependent on only ONE of your returns. The other person enters nothing about the child on their return.
@ron_suokko To be eligible for Head of Household you must have a qualifying person as a dependent and you must have provided over one-half the cost to maintain the home.
If you are filing as Single, you need to enter a dependent. Once the dependent section has been completed the TurboTax program will ask you several question to determine if you are eligible for Head of Household.
Im having this exact issue right now. It wont allow me to review/edit anything!
