So, I was FORCED into migrating off my fantastic desktop version of QB and was FORCED to now use QuickBooks Online. After that move now I can't use the QB Online version with my desktop version of TurboTax Business. That is just CRAZY. I went to the line version of QB so I could do the automated online banking that was removed from the local desktop version. That old process let me auto import into TurboTax Business. Now I can't do that anymore. WHY.....???????? You forced me into upgrading and now I have to MANUALLY enter everything into my TurboTax app rather than auto import it. Thanks QB Online for FAILING to be compatible with the TurboTax Business app.
Agreed. Felt that having to move to Quickbooks online was forced. Now only to find out I need enter my information from Quickbooks online to Turbo Tax business manually is a big service failure. When ask on the survey if I will recommend Quickbooks Online, that will the lowest rating on the scale. If I had know, I would have stayed with the unsupported desktop version.
Have you looked at the QuickBooks Community to see if there is a solution?
When I called Quickbooks online support on February 17th, 2025 they informed me that the only way to transfer my QBO data to Quickbooks desktop is to hire a Pro Advisor to do it for me. I told QBO support I was getting a "1009 - Internal error: Unkown expection" when using the Quickbooks Desktop migration tool trying to import my .QBXML QBO export to Quickbooks desktop. QBO support told me this is a known issue with no known ETA for a fix (or if it will ever be fixed). They informed me that the only option to get my Quickbooks Online data into Quickbooks desktop is to hire a Pro Advisor to do it for me.
There is no longer any way for customers to get their QBO data into Turbotax on their own.
Here's a workaround to transfer data from QuickBooks Online to TurboTax Desktop.
Not true. The QB Online -> QB Desktop -> TurboTax Business no longer works, and you have to hire someone to do it. Please don't mislead people.
Are you people **bleep**ed up.
I pay $50 per month for quick books online because I couldn't update my desktop. (per quick books) I paid $120 for turbo tax I can't use.
3 hours going out of my mind because I have been doing it for years and now it won't work. Now I find out Intuit made it broken and have hidden it well just to **bleep** with every one that uses it.
I am so Pissed I will never use Turbo Tax again.
I will be filing a complaint with anyone who will listen.
Intuit/Turbo Tax Sucks
