I have done more research and it is saying that the SSN was already used. As I mentioned, today was the day I filed and paid. I played with it about 3 weeks ago but didnt submit anything.

Same thing happened to me. I read on the IRS site to put the AGI to $0 and resubmit. I did that and still got the same error.

You got this error for one of two reasons, either you accidently submitted your return already or someone else filed for you. Occasionally, it can be an issue with an IP PIN.
You say definitely did not file, so you should contact the IRS and report this as soon as you can.

As far as your state, you may be able to file your state electronically as a stand alone return, if your state offers that option. Visit your state's Department of Revenue website to see if they offer free, state only e-file.
If they don't offer that you will have to print, sign and mail in both your state and federal returns.
I am still waiting for my 2020 refund that I printed out and mailed in. So it'll be a cold day in hell when I do that again! 😜

1) you just efiled your 2020?
2) the IRS just sent you your 2020 refund
3) something else?
what do you mean?
I sent my 2020 1040 via snail mail July 2021. It was just processed and I received my refund. Since then I resubmitted my 2021, but it is rejected.
did you get a rejection reason?
if unable to efile, paper file it (but it will take 6-9 months to process)

I did not file already. Checked my transcripts on the IRS site as well. Tried doing the AGI as $0 before my 2020 was finished processing and that didn't work.
I know, I waited A YEAR for my 2020s. :(
