NON RESIDENT ALIEN
If you are a non-resident alien, your return must be filed on Form 1040NR, which cannot be prepared using TurboTax. You can use TT’s partner, sprintax:

No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue. If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help. Do not use the word “refund.”

It depends on how long you worked here. If you were here more than 183 days meeting the substantial presence test, then you would need to file a 1040 form for the time you were here and considered a US Resident. That time would be from the day you met the substantial presence test until you left the country. This you can do through TurboTax.
If you did not meet the substantial presence test at all and were considered a Non-Resident Alien for your entire stay in the US, you would need to file a form 1040NR which TurboTax does not support. However, our partner Sprintax.com does.
If you were both a Resident Alien and Non Resident Alien in 2024, you would be considered a Dual Status Alien which means you would need to file both a 1040 and a 1040NR. You can do the 1040 using TurboTax and the 1040NR using Sprintax.com. If you are a dual status alien, you would not be able to use the Standard Deduction, instead you would need to claim the itemized deduction.
As for fees, it depends on how simple your return is and what situations apply to you. You can click here for fee information.
Also note, since Texas does not have a state income tax since you lived and worked in Texas, you would not have to file a state return.
Publication 519, U.S. Tax Guide for Aliens
One more detail.....the IRS will not make a direct deposit to a foreign bank. They will only mail a check to the address on your tax return.
I was US-resident until 1/1/2025 so I believe I can simply use 1040 form.
You can Efile with a Foreign Address and phone number (or leave your phone number out, it is not required), but you need a US Bank Account for direct deposit of a Refund, or to pay your TurboTax fees.
TurboTax no longer offers a free product, but there are other options at the Free File Program.
