i entered my bank account info on the info worksheet and requested that my balance due be paid via direct debit to my checking account. when i check this box to direct debit my account the x appears in red and the my info worksheet is labeled as not done. filing instructions also have me paper filing my return and attaching a check for the balance due. I want to efile and have the tax paid via direct debit. How do i accomplish this?

That X is indicating to TurboTax to direct deposit your refund into the account. And since you do not have a refund, you have errors on your tax return. As mentioned above, the 1040 worksheet is not the place to enter your direct debit info to pay your tax bill. You can go back an uncheck that box and remove your bank account from the 1040 worksheet.
You can change your filing method from ''by mail' to ''e-file'' AND enter your direct debit information by using the File tab up top, see image attached. Once you click on 'File', you can choose E-file, then a few screens later you will be asked for payment info and you can enter your direct debit details.
Entered info to E File.
Then for Direct Deposit. including Bank; Bank Number; Accoun Number.
Then TurboTax requests rto verify informstion.
But there is no place to veiy.
When you press continue you are taken back
to selecting Dircct Depossit or mail again..
Looks like a bug to me??
Or I just have to get my refund check by Mail....
Or What am I doing wrong???
