Secondary tax filers are also covered under IDnotify as part of MAX Benefits. To enroll the secondary tax filer with IDnotify, follow these steps:
I've contacted Turbotax twice and nobody can give me good information regarding this other than to contact ID notify who tells me to contact quicken. If this is part of the benefit I would love to take advantage of it but nobody seems to know how.
I finally got a resolution to this after 3 hours in a phone loop between TurboTax and IDnotify support.
For reference, here is the page stating that a secondary filer is covered under MAX benefits when filing jointly: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/choosing-a-product/help/what-is-max/00/26700
When we enrolled in MAX benefits during/before filing, I received an enrollment email to create an account, however no instructions were provided on how to create an account for the secondary filer.
Do not bother calling IDnotify support ([phone number removed]), they insist that there is nothing they can do regarding enrollments and that is completely under TurboTax control, which is true.
Eventually TurboTax support [phone number removed]) was able to provide an enrollment link for IDnotify, which creates an IDnotify account specifically for TurboTax customers. NOTE: you must not be currently logged into any other TurboTax or IDnotify sessionsthis link to work (Try private/incognito browser session, if necessary) . TurboTax will need to provide you with the unique PIN Code: https://portal.idnotify.com/enrollment/2?RTN=90000121
Best of Luck,
I had the same issue. If it was possible a few years ago, it's not possible now. I was passed off to multiple representatives over the course of three hours. They understood what the issue was but could not get authorization to send a new registration link. Seems like they need to either drop the representation that both spouses can be covered on a joint filing, or figure out a way to fix this.
For questions on idNotify, you can contact them directly here. @jhermann13
Thanks Carissa, but both I and the TurboTax agents spoke with representatives from IDNotify and Experian. They all said that it was a registration issue, and that the problem was on TurboTax’s end, not theirs.
I'm also encoutering the same issue. Has there been any resolution to this? Also contacted IDnotify and all they said on April 12th was, "We apologize for the inconvenience; however, we are unable to further assist with your request. To receive the best assistance possible for your request, please contact TurboTax directly at 888-777-3066."
It is really frustrating to know that we are paying for something individually and not getting the service we were advertised. I think this needs to be escalated.
Did you speak with TurboTax Customer Support regarding the issue? If not, please reach out to report the issue. We are not able to address this type of concern here in Community as we do not have access to your personal account information.
What is the TurboTax phone number?
It's 2024, but still same issue. I called both TurboTax support and IDNotify support, but no one knew how to fix it. My call was just bounced between the two companies. It's frustrating.
Please see this link for additional direction on how to access your IDnotify benefits. There is a place to request additional support if you are unable to log in.
