The TurboTax personal editions cannot be used by a paid tax preparer.

You will need one of the professional editions from this TurboTax website - https://accountants.intuit.com/turbotax-for-professionals/

Scroll way down under

Section B: Software and Services Terms

Then C:Additional Restrictions

b: You are not licensed or permitted to use the Software, or to allow the Software to be used, to prepare tax returns, schedules or worksheets on a professional or commercial basis (i.g., for a preparer's or other fee or consideration).

@clarksonfinancia , agreeing with my colleagues  @DoninGA  and @VolvoGirl ,  for IRS filings you will need a PTIN ( including back ground check ) and depending on the state  ( CA, OR  etc. ) Preparer ID and  education  completion.  Hope you are talking about 2025 filing season -- it is quite doable.  Welcome to club.

You can not use Turbo Tax Online versions or the personal Desktop Software to prepare returns for clients. Intuit has other products for tax preparers. They are Lacerte and ProSeries and ProConnect. ProSeries is the least expensive. You can install ProSeries and Turbo Tax on the same computer.

And to prepare more than five e-files, you will need to sign up with the IRS as an ERO - an Electronic Returns Originator. How to become an Authorized E-file Provider…..

OR do you just want to have a link to Turbo Tax on your own website for you customers to do it themselves?

I have a PTIN.  I have been preparing Income Taxes for over 25 years.  I know that Intuit has a program that lets you efile more than 10 returns.  I’m just trying to find it before 2025 Tax Season.

You need the professional software---not TurboTax.

I believe the programs are called Proseries and LaCerte.

I don't know the differences, although I suspect one is web based and the other is computer based, and the price will be different.  Like everyone else, Intuit is driving a subscription model where they want you to pay per return instead of pay once for the software, but that might be preferable if you only have 10.
