TurboTax needs to do a better job of explaining this. I spent 30 minutes figuring it out.
> First, Pay for TurboTax Self-Employed - pay at > You can pay for your tax return in the File step (click "File") The option to pay only becomes available after you complete the Setting up section (the Intro and Profile steps).
> Then, Click "Tax Home", and scroll down to "Your Account" (below the 'Continue" button"). Click "Show" and there is a choice for "Create W-2's and 1099's and it takes you to the page
No, you should be good with your Online Self Employed program. Let me share with you the TurboTax FAQ that includes instructions on how to prepare. Please post back if you continue to have problems.

Thank you for your response. I have followed these instructions. When I click "Quick Employer Forms", I get this message:
To continue with unlimited access to TurboTax Quick Employer Forms, you must be using 2020 TurboTax Business or 2020 TurboTax Home & Business software products, which can be purchased here.
And my only option is to go purchase one of those.
@KimG400 Are you accessing the QEF via your new TurboTax Online program? I bet you'll have to go ahead and make payment for the program before being allowed access to the QEF.
Here's a link with instructions to make payment now, before filing.
How can I pay my TurboTax Online fees? (intuit.com)
Yes, after I tried it the first time and it didn't work, I went ahead and paid for it and have tried it a few times since then. Same message still comes up and I don't have access to the forms. I just double checked it and it is paid.
Well, shoot! I'd try this (because it seems to help with all kinds of issues computer-related):
Log out of your TurboTax program. Clear your cache and delete browsing history. Once that's done, see if you're allowed to get to the QEF.
If not, I'd refer you to TurboTax Customer Support for assistance. Use the linked info below to contact Support during business hours. I'm SO sorry you're having this difficulty!
What is the TurboTax phone number?
Thanks for all your help. I did get it to work by accessing it a different way. I signed out and back in. At the bottom of the main page, under Account, there is an option to create W2s and 1099s. It works when I click there rather than trying to do it from within the Income and Expenses section of TurboTax.
Well, hallelujah! So glad you found a workaround, but so sorry for the problems!
