I am on the consent page and it is saying that my taxpayer first name does not match, but it does. What do I do?

I had the same problem, and it looks like a lot others have too...


I went back to my profile and edited my name information at the very beginning.  It was correct but I did it anyway.  I deleted my name and then entered it again, then saved it.  When I went back to the e-file confirmation page, it finally worked and I could e-file.

It doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with your filing, just a bug with the software.

I am having this same issue. I have deleted my name and entered again and saved it. I went to the e-file confirmation page and it STILL did not work. I am not sure what else to do??

List the individual forms and open the incorrect form (shown with red exclamation point). Find the invalid field (should be shown in red) and reenter the information needed. That should fix the problem.

You may want to try clearing out your browser's cache and cookies. Please see How do I delete cookies? and How to clear your cache for more information.
