How do i finish my state taxes

E-filing your state return is only allowed once a federal return has been accepted/rejected. State returns will show incomplete until federal has been accepted.

After you have e-filed your Federal return and it has been accepted, please follow the steps below to e-file your State Tax return: 

1. Login to your TurboTax account.
2. Scroll down to Your tax returns and documents.and click Show.
3. Make sure the current tax year is highlighted, then scroll down and select Add a state.
   
4. Select the State Taxes tab.
5. Select Continue to start or complete your state taxes.
6. Select Done with State.
7. Continue through the flow to review and file your state taxes.

I need to do my 2016 state tax...when I hit the  2016 square the add a state box is gone..

Turbo Tax Online is only for 2017 now.  To finish and add a state you need to use the Desktop program to continue.
