How can I enter in line 30 of the 1040?

Yes, if you already received it and did not enter that you did receive it on your return, they will reduce your refund because that was part of the refund total calculation.  If they paid it to you now, you would have received it twice.

Double check this!
Because we put that YES we recieved it and on 30 it showed we did not.
I didn't catch this on time and thought I was getting a refund... Well turns out I owe!!

Only the amount that your are eligible for and you didn't receive in 2021 will end up on line 30 of your 2021 Form 1040.

If you did not get prompted to enter your stimulus information, that means you either:

  1. Filed as a dependent being claimed on another tax return, or
  2. have an AGI too high to claim the recovery rebate

To get to the stimulus questions in TurboTax at any time, you can search for stimulus and use the Jump to link.  If you are trying to trigger it, you can go to Other Situations, answer any questions and click Done. The next automatic selection is Federal Review and it will ask about payments received.

If your AGI is too high you don't have to enter what you got or letter 6475 and you don't have to pay it back and it is not taxable.

How do I edit line 30 to put in the correct amount?

How can I enter in line 30 of the 1040?

Only by entering the right amount you actually got on the Stimulus screen.  Then if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more it will be on line 30.  Why do you need to change it?  See my posts above where to enter it.

No credit is allowed when AGI is at least the following amount:

  • $160,000 if married and filing a joint return or if filing as a qualifying widow or widower
  • $120,000 if filing as head of household or
  • $80,000 for all others.

How can I enter in line 30 of the 1040?

My income is only $30,000 but I was claimed by my mom on 2020 but not 2021. So I don't understand why the question did not come up

In this case, TurboTax will ask you to enter a 1095-A. You'll enter the info from your parents' 1095-A. The next screen will ask you about your health plan being shared, so check the box.

Then you'll see a screen asking for shared policy info. You enter the following:

  • Enter the social security number in box 5 (recipient's SSN) on your parents' 1095-A
  • Enter the starting month and ending month that you had the insurance

Now you'll be asked to enter percentages for Your Premium, Second lowest-cost silver plan (SLCSP) and advanced payment.

I am having an error show up in red on box 5 of 1095A saying the recipient' indicated you can be claimed as a dependent. Please delete this form? should I delete the 1095A and answer No to from 1095A?

How can I enter in line 30 of the 1040?

I tried with the link and took me to federal review then continue without showing the question screen?  Maybe because my mom receive the stimulus since I was her dependent in 2020?  But I thought if I file myself I still qualify since I did not receive anything
