I cannot recall from which of my bank accounts that I designated my payment of federal taxes that were due when I filed my return. When I review my tax return in TurboTax, I cannot find where I selected the bank from which to deduct that payment. I would appreciate your help. Thank you so much.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
It will be listed on a worksheet.
HERE is a link with more information and how to find that form in your TurboTax documents.
Thank you for the instructions. However, I am using TurboTax Desktop & cannot find "Tax Home" when I open my return (in fact there is no left sidebar). I also logged into my account online & still cannot locate "Tax Home". Could you please point me in the right direction? Thank you so much.
After you sign into your TurboTax Online account, look on the left side panel - It will say Tax Home and Documents. This is only for TurboTax Online. If you are on the desktop program, you don't sign in, so there is no Tax Home page or button.
See screenshot below:
If you are looking for the bank information you used for your Federal Taxes, and you used TurboTax Desktop:
If you saved your return with all supporting worksheets, it should show there.
If you are in TurboTax Desktop now, look at the top bar menu and select Tools.
From the dropdown menu that appears, select My Tax Data.
This will bring up a window where you can scroll through and view all of the entries you made on your return.
MonikaK1: Thank you for the response. Unfortunately I cannot locate "Tools" on the top menu bar in TuirboTax Deluxe (see screenshot below). Could you please help? Thank you.
Thanks for the screenshot.
The black top menu bar should show immediately above the blue bar with the logo - if you are on a Windows computer.
If you are using a Mac, the toolbar appears separately at the very top of your screen outside of your TurboTax display box in white letters next to the Apple logo.
Apparently I must be living in a parallel universe. 🙂 Yes, I am using a Mac, but "Tools" drop-down menu next to the Apple logo (see screenshot below). I must be missing something obvious. Thank you for your patience.
To see your payment information you can go to Forms mode and select Info Wks or in easy step you can go back to the file section and check to se what you entered.
Vanessa A: Thank you so much for helping me with this! Now this might be a stupid follow-up question. In my notes on filing my federal return, I assumingly listed the bank account from which to initiated a direct deposit to the IRS along with the deposit date. However, when I now look at that form on my return, I don't see any entry that I made on the bank account nor the deposit date. Now the stupid question😊, can I assume that if I indeed provided this information on my return prior to e-filing, it should be indicated on the form that I am currently reviewing? Thank you!
Are you looking at the Info Wks? Part V is the bank info. Is one of the boxes checked for either direct deposit or direct debit? You said you need to pay federal tax? That would be a direct debit. Or see if you have Form 1040-V listed (further down in the Forms list) to pay a tax due by check.
Did you file yet? If you are not set up for direct debit from your bank account then you can pay i online at the IRS when you want. You can pay the IRS directly at
