To e-file you have to have a "ISS" date what is ISS?
Where are you being asked for an ISS date? I do not know what that is.
Here are several troubleshooting steps that you can try:
There is a ISS date to enter from your Driver's License to verify you when you efile. Go though the File tab and look for it.
I cannot efile. I don't get an error code, only FAILED_VALIDATION with text indicating that an update is needed. I am using a Mac version of Home & Business and the Turbotax program indicates that everything is up to date with the program starts up. If I check for updates when the program is running it says everything is up to take.

Obviously this issue has not been resolved because I am getting the same error code and cannot e-file. I can't even find the update to download! Turbotax should reimburse us for the state e-file charge and the cost of the software from Amazon. This is a total rip-off & I will NOT be recommending Turbotax to anyone!

1. Updated my WINDOWS software.
2. Rebooted computer.
3. Installed TurboTax update that was not previously available before Windows update was completed.
4. E-filed Federal and MA State Estate taxes with 2023 TurboTax Business without error

It is April 10th and I am having the same issue with Turbo Tax Business, both State and Federal. Error code 54 will not let me file. Any ideas? Thank you so much! Will Intuit fix this glitch.

I am also still getting an error. I have Turbo Tax Deluxe via CD and am e-filing federal and state. payment processed for state.
I have already performed a Windows update, Turbo Tax update, turbo tax manual update, taken down firewall and anti-virus, changed federal file to voucher/check option versus online payment option.
Still not submitting.
I am so sorry to hear that. After no success after two days of trying I gave up and printed the documents and drove to the post office. This is the first time after many years I have had any issues with Turbo Tax. Does Turbo Tax have a customer service number we could call? Going to the post office was inconvenient and the certified mail and return receipt required by the IRS and State to prove mailing added $20.
I had the same issue after doing the same things you mentioned. What finally made it work for me was reinstalling the state.
