Feb. 5th, A.D. 2025
Greetings.
I purchased the Delux package from Costco in January, 2025. I completed the download on my computer Windows ten on the first day of filing, Jan. 27th. I too noticed that I was not asked for the license code at the
beginning of the process. At the end of the process I was charged $49.00 again for the package even
though I paid around that amount at Costco.
It took me only 55 minutes to complete both Fed. and state taxes. I spent two hours on hold and speaking to several people on the phone about the charge and they too told me to simply pay it and file a claim for a refund. I went to my trusty email and completed a nice letter asking for a refund and provided all information including the license code.
On Tuesday Feb. 4th, 2025 I received my Fed. refund, today on Feb. 5th, 2025 I received the state return. Eight and nine days respectively in waiting. I still have not received the refund from Turbo tax. Can you believe that?
Hello? Turbo Tax, are you there? Are you going to refund me the money for the double payment for your
tax preparation package?
My phone number if you want it is [phone number removed]. I live in California in case someone from India or the Philippines is going to want to talk to me.
How much longer to I have to wait? Do I have to hire a shark attorney to go after my refund to the double payment?
Is anyone actually reading this?
I will wait for my refund.
Please do not steal from me.

It actually sounds as if you used online TurboTax instead of the desktop download.
We see people get confused and they keep logging in to online software which will require them to pay at the end. You need to use the desktop software. One way to tell if you are using the right software---your tool bar. Online software has the toolbar in a black vertical column on the left side of the screen. Desktop software has the tools up on the top of your TT screen.
To request a refund for a TT product
Sounds like you purchased the desktop editions and in the process of installing the software on your computer you accessed the online editions where you completed and filed the federal and state tax returns by paying the TurboTax online account fees.
The TurboTax desktop and Online editions are totally separate program with different features per edition and different prices.
You should request a refund from Costco for the software you did not install and did not use.

Good Day,
After spending two and a half hours on the phone I was finally granted a refund of the money I paid via
the computer Vs. what I spent at Costco.
Concerning having to go to the tool bar to access the correct account or system, think for a moment.
The instructions in the pamphlet state that to begin the procedure I am to go on the computer and access
Turbo Tax.
The tax questions pop up and I answer them and go to the end and after two hours on the phone I pay double. How am I , the stupid naive customer supposed to know that I am on the incorrect platform or
whatever the techno name is ?????
Tool bar??? I am eighty years old and believe that I am pretty savvy on the computer compared to some
of my senior citizen friends who do not even have a phone that can access Google, Rumble or any other
site.
So, next year I suppose that I will somehow struggle to get onto the proper site because you geniuses in the six figure pay group can not come up with a user friendly way to do taxes. I was told that many new computers do not even have a disc drive so compact discs are now useless. Wow, my luxury Chevy IMPALA does not even have a disc player.
When my wife and I drive the two hundred twenty miles to Las Vegas she drives and I sit in the passenger seat and play music from my C.D. collection on a boom box on my lap.
Oh well,
see you next year.
Respectfully,
A loyal customer,
