The TurboTax software I bought at Costco required an updated Mac software version. Your packaging says nothing about what version of software is required. Then I get to the end of the return, and only then do I find out the exorbitant cost of the online version, which does not include the state returns. 139 + 64 + 64. There is no way out of the fees, which are a lot more than I have ever paid in the past. So, Turbo does not disclose up front. And then there are all kinds of messages like, just get it done, relieve yourself of the stress, use the refund to pay. I went to the online disclosure, and it explains that the cost of the return is contingent on the complexity of the return. I have had mostly good things to say about TurboTax - until now.

It sounds like you purchased the desktop download at Costco and instead of using it, you used online TurboTax.
We see people get confused and they keep logging in to online software which will require them to pay at the end. You need to use the desktop software. One way to tell if you are using the right software---your tool bar. Online software has the toolbar in a black vertical column on the left side of the screen. Desktop software has the tools up on the top of your TT screen.
You appear to be posting from online software instead of the desktop CD/download software that the license code is for. If you are using online, you are using the wrong program. You need to switch to the desktop software to get what you paid for. You have to download it, update it and open it up from your own hard drive to use it.
HOW DO I GET STARTED WITH TT DESKTOP
