Confused

My ex husband and I recently divorced may 15 however upon filing taxes. He waited to file at last min and by himself. However with that being said he paid 100 and had ur amended and wants to file with me and dependant because he doesn't want to pay in .  However I submitted it and it keeps coming back saying fix ur return now I don't and it has completely wiped income.out and I have had to redo it all over again. I know I add max so with paying that much someone orda be able to do.somethinf besides let me sit here with frusterstion the error I keep getting says he is a tax payer on another acct

OK ... you may want to seek local professional help getting this mess corrected.

 

If you were still married on 12/31/18 then you two could only file the 2018 return jointly  OR  married filing separately  OR as Head of Household if either of you qualify.  If he filed separately and he owes then that would make sense that he wants to amend to file jointly.   This situation should have been discussed in the divorce proceedings.  If it was not you have no obligation to file a joint return unless you choose to do so ... talk to a local professional to get educated on your rights and options.
