Where did you find the supporting document? I'm unable to locate where the + or document is to be able to press the X.
I am using the CD version of Turbotax.
When the error message appears the screen has the appropriate links to the supporting document and delete button. If you are using the online version there may be different screens.
I am having this same issue and this has not resolved it. I spent EXTRA money just to get through to somebody on the phone and n all they did was google this same exact question and find this same thread. Now I have paid the next level "expert" help and still have gotten nowhere. Please assist in anyway because this glitch is happening on all devices that I use and now I am down extra money on my return because of an issue that is not my fault.

No matter what link or "fix" provided, nothing works. I have even tried clearing browser data, cookies, changing browsers, and using the phone app, nothing works. I called the service line and the AI only wanted to provide more links via text or email, and all I said was I have an error, didn't specify what the error actually is. So how can the service provide help when I didn't specify what the problem is?
I am using the free service because the filing isn't too complicated, but it appears that this error would "magically" go away if I paid for the $29 or more plan. I can guarantee that the problem will no longer be an issue if I paid for a plan. I believe this error is in place on purpose so users can pay for at least the minimum service plan, in which in my case would exceed my refund total.
Where or who can I report this error to an actual developer or help desk that are human that will either assist or create a ticket to fix this issue if it's known?
If anyone has found a solution, without paying for a plan or a store bought CD, please post it here. Thanks.
You need to delete, not just zero out, the entry in the supporting document. You can email me for more info [email address removed]
I did delete. Spaced, delete. There is absolutely nothing in that field.
I even thought there were invisible characters or spaces, so I backspace and delete to make sure it is completely empty. It simply goes back to showing 0. and asks me to remove the digits.
I've done this on Chrome, Explorer, Edge, and just downloaded the TurboTax app just to see if I can "fix" the field and it does the same thing as if I'm on a desktop.
Then when I select the option to file by mail, just to see what happens, it goes back to saying I have the same error. So I can't even review the return to save or make a copy to print and mail.
Delete may be a misnomber. You need to remove the entry at the underlying schedule.
In the CD version Turbo tax shows where the underlying schedule and entry appear. I'm not sure about the online version but the resolution is where the entry originates. and that entry must be "removed."
Unfortunately since I solved the error I cannot identify what the underlying original entry is derived. Perhaps go to forms and look at the form that the error is cited.
it would be best to click here and give us a call, so we can better assist you in removing this. @ThurstonHowl3
All,
I basically went through the entire return line for line, click for click until I located the area where the field was entered with the 0. It cannot be removed from the form as it's presented as a mistake at the end when attempting to file, it has to be from within the return under the state filing section.
When I first attempted to locate the field, it wasn't presented to me to fix within the return. That prompted me to go through EVERYTHING over again, and I found it located in an area under state filing where I simply didn't remember where it was. I also found that not every option for income reporting and tax breaks were reviewed or started, so it helped me complete the return 100%. At times, we get so used to zooming through the return when items don't pertain to us, that we forget what and where we entered information.
I was able to resolve the issue, but I had to do it by clicking each item and their subitems and clearing out any 0 that may have been in the field.
You do not have to pay for assistance or a CD, just open your return and click every single item and any items under that item and you will locate the error.
Just Go Back To The State Where The Tax Credit Is, Mine Was Virginia, After The Income Section You Should See The “Pass Through Entity Tax Credit”. If You Inputed 0, Just Delete The Input And You Should Be Able To File. I Just Filed 2 Minutes Ago Because I Couldn’t Figure Out Why For Weeks, Well, I Gave Up Honestly lmao.
Thank you!
This just happened to me. Your solution worked. Thank you!
