I'm sorry to hear that you had so many problems too. I've been using TurboTax for years and this is the first time I've had activation problems and I have a new top level laptop. I hope TurboTax is able to get these problems fixed.
To resolve the issue for entering activation key, change your display resolution to 800x600 and click keep changes. Enter activation key. You can now change your resolution back to recommended or your desired settings. Continue entering your information into TurboTax now as usual.
Yes and it is now April and the problem still persists - I spent two hours on this. The solution was for me to use the online version and not the version I downloaded, which btw downloaded fine on my old PC. This is a DELL PC with WIndows 10 I bought in January 2021
tried this and it did not work1
I did contact a specialist. They were not aware of the problem. I told them what I was reading online. I spent 3 hours on this over 1 hour with a turbo specialist !
I had the same issue with the infinite 4 swirling dots even after closing and re-opening the app in MS Windows. I finally rebooted my computer and was able to enter the activation code after the 4 dots swirled for about 90 seconds.
I will suggest you to contact TurboTax Support. Click here: https://support.turbotax.intuit.com/contact/
Solved! I had the same activation problem and the blue dot in the center of the screen. After several HOURS of trying every trick in the book, the last one was checking google for answers. Hopefully you folks sort by the latest date, as all the earlier suggestions in this question trail of tears did not help. The answer is to change your Display setting to 1366 x 768.
Yes, as simple as that and why Intuit did not tell users or make that solution the first answer is beyond me!! I need them to reimburse the purchase price for all the time that I have wasted! Never ever had a problem with installation and I have been using this since around 2004 if not earlier!!

Congratulations!
The screen resolution solution was discovered through various threads in the user community forum before TurboTax Support became generally aware of the issue and cause.
The specific lower resolution that works is not the same for everyone. It depends on their system, desktop monitor vs. laptop screen, etc. The important part, however, is to use a lower screen resolution. If 800x600 doesn't work, users can try 1024x768, or keep working up to another, such as the 1366x768 that worked for your system.
It's bizarre that the program cannot accommodate all modern monitor resolutions.
Some people don't even have to change the resolution but can solve the issue by adjusting the scaling to 100%. Many users have the scaling set to 125%, but lowering it to 100% may solve the problem for some, and is quick and easy to try. Some users might have to adjust scaling and resolution.
Do you have a patch for this problem: Activate screen stalls and does not respond to anything.

I don't know what activation screen "stalls" means. You probably need to describe it in more detail.
Does it let you enter the license code, and then won't connect to the activation server?
Or is it blank or partially-blank, and you can't enter the code?
Or does the screen display a blue dot, and won't display the code entry field?
Not sure if you have the exact same problem, but what ended up working for me is when the white activate screen comes up change the resolution of the screen to the smallest available. THen the screen displays. I could not type onthe screen I think others have. I changed resolution back to my default and then typed in license code.
Finally got an answer from a live person. George told me to change the resolution on my display to 800x600 and restart the Turbotax program. Activation went without issue. Returned the screen to my normal settings and the program is working fine.
I have downloaded the deluxe app successfully. While trying to input my verification now, it will not allow me to place my cursor in the box to input the code. This is ridiculous, why pay for a service that does not work.
