Can turbotax read its own formyrecords.pdf file?

Tried importing my formyrecords.pdf from 2017 TT into 2017 TT and it get error "file is too large".  lost my .tax files with server raid crash but had this file on thumb drive.

You can't "import" a PDF file into TurboTax. You can only view, read and print it with Adobe Reader.

You cannot transfer a 2017 TurboTax PDF file into the 2017 TurboTax program.  If you do not have the tax data file for 2017, which has a file extension of .tax2017, then you would have to re-create the 2017 tax return manually using the PDF of the 2017 tax return as a guide.

...AND.....even if you do the transfer  (2016pdf-to-2017  or 2017pdf-to-2018)...what transfers is so limited as to be practically useless...just names & AGI......no real data.

And you can only transfer a pdf from another tax program not a Turbo Tax pdf.

NO, it can't! TurbotaxPremier 2021 does can not read "TaxReturn2020.pdf" even when I take it to the directory.

The file wasn't too corrupted to print out! I had to print it out so that I could enter manually.

Not why I paid for Premier!!!

@josephhenrycole    What are you trying to transfer 2020 into?  The Online Premier version or the Desktop program?  What did you use last year?  Is it a Turbo Tax pdf file?  You need to have the tax file ending in .tax2020 to transfer into 2021.  Or if you used the Online version you need to be in the same account.  

If you used the Windows Desktop program you need the file ending in .taxyyyy to open in it. The tax files (and PDF files) should be in your Documents then in a Turbo Tax subfolder. If you can't find them do a search for all files ending in .tax or .tax2020 or .tax2019, etc. And check the Recycle Bin. For Windows 10 check the One Drive. Did you make any backups? Like DropBox.

If you don't have the main .tax file you might have one that starts with a Tilde sign ~ like "~your name.tax2020". That file is if your computer crashes or your real file gets lost or deleted or corrupt so you can restore it.
