See this TurboTax support FAQ for importing 1099's - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/entering-importing/help/how-do-i-import-my-1099/00/26254
Note - Most financial institutions will not have the current tax year 2021 forms available for import until sometime in February 2022.
The documents are ready NOW, I want to import them NOW. Please update software to allow me to import the documents NOW.
The "documents" may be ready, but many times, the specially-formatted tax import files may not be ready until day-to-weeks after the paper forms show up in yoru Fidelity account. That depends solely on when Fidelity computer staff can format the files properly for the import files.
So, you'll just have to wait...or...enter them manually yourself using the data on the PDF/paper copies you download yourself.

tt says 1/31 forms ready date for fidelity.
1/31/22 tried to import Fidelity 1099-R. TT gives message that no forms are available for 2020 (NOT 2021). guessing that TT at least hasn't correctly updated their error message, and/or haven't "turned on" the feed from Fidelity. It may also be that Fidelity hasn't actually made the feed available quite yet. either way TT needs to fix the error message.
My Fidelity account...inside my normal account web login, indicates that the Consolidated 1099-B,-INT,-DIV (As a PDF) isn't expected to be ready until 12 Feb. Whether the specially-formatted tax download of those forms will be ready at the same time remains to be determined.
Fidelity posted it early, programming 101, log into the site check for documents if not tell the customer try again. Programing 101, check the format of the documents, if not correct tell the customer to try back later I thought we paid for support such as making programing changes not just lip service. Customer service is just getting worse.
I'm referring to 1099-R, which are theoretically available from Fidelity now, and I do have my PDF version thereof. Either way as noted previously, the error message is incorrect from TT. If it's fixed now or soon, it's ok, just a missed promise. (note the reference to TT 2021 in the error box)
Yes, Fidelity is delayed in their data online transfer with us and only has 2020 available for Turbo Tax. You can choose to manually type in the form, quick and easy.
If your 1099-R PDF forms are available in a Fidelity NetBenefits account? Those 1099-R forms have never been provided by Fidelity for direct import into tax software, at least not in the past 15 years.
IF your 1099-R forms are in a regular Fidelity brokerage account, I have no experience as to whether those will be available as direct imports.
I am having the same problem. Hope it is fixed soon by TT or Fidelity.
I too have 1099s available at Fidelity Net Benefits. I have no problem importing all docs from Vanguard. When trying to do so for Fidelity, Turbo Tax comes back with an error on my user name/ password. I am not making a mistake as I can log in directlyi with Fidelity using same user name and password. I contacted Fidelity and they stated the issue is with Turbo Tax. Can we please get this corrected so that I can import my docs??
@Pascale740 1099-R forms from the NetBenefits area have not been importable into the software for at least the last 15 years. The PDF forms are in there, but the tax software requires a separate special format, so you will need to enter those forms data manually.
The data import should only work as coming from a regular Fidelity brokerage account, and some folks are having issue with that right now. Should be a software update overnight tonight, but I don't know if it will fix it for these folks...don't really know if Fidelity has their specially-formatted tax import files really ready yet. PDF forms might be ready for some people (mine are not), but the tax software import files are arranged differently.
I can import my 2021 activities from Fidelity when using TurboTax Online. However, I cannot do it via TurboTax Premier which I just bought. Was this a waste of money?
You should be able to import your tax forms from Fidelity as a partner into your desktop product. If the import to the desktop is problematic and you have imported your fidelity tax information to an online version already, you can import that online tax file to your desktop.
Here is a helpful link for that process if needed.
