What do different color boxes mean in Worksheets?

Hello,

Smart Check brings me to Worksheets.  Yikes so many boxes to fill in.  Never had to do this in past years with Turbo Tax program (always CD).

What does each color mean in worksheets?

Why if I fill in reply, the color doesn't change, or the program continuously returns to same box?

So many questions about "spouse". What if there isn't a spouse?  I leave it blank or enter 0 - program keeps going back to this.

Turbo program has always fill in and managed my return very well. Or Community Support answers a question easily.   Not happening for 2021 or any year re: worksheets and general questions.

I have CD 2021.  Never had so many worksheets questions to fill in.

"What if there isn't a spouse?"   

If it keeps asking for spouse information then you answered incorrectly in My Info when it asked if you were married in 2021.   Go back to My Info and click edit by your name.   One of the questions asked is "Were you married...."   Say NO to that question.

Are you divorced or had a spouse before that might have transferred over?  Do you have a dependent?  You might need a Spouse to get a credit or something.

I was married and am divorced.   Nothing different from what I've entered in all the previous years.

I'll need to return to this later.  (I'm working, too!)

I may have found a free Chat support to walk through this.  I think it's included with H&B.  Or at least, some days for free.  Not sure.  Reading through Turbo site can be tricky.

If you transferred a 2020 joint return over to start your 2021 return, then some spouse information came with it.   You have to get all of that spouse information out if you were divorced by the end of 2021 and that can be really tricky.     Try saying no to the "married" question in My Info, but that might not be enough.  You might need to start over without transferring 2020 in to 2021, and make sure for 2021 you choose either Single or Head of Household for your filing status (if you are the custodial parent of the children).

If you were listed as the spouse on a prior joint return you might not be able to delete the primary spouse and should start over in a new blank return and account and not transfer from 2020.  You can not remove a spouse or switch the order of names.  See about removing a spouse is not recommended

Thank you all. 
I played arpund with it and finally was able to keep the “0” entry out. But I needed to be at very end and ready to submit (print in my case). If not, the next time you ‘continue saved  return’,  “0” entry shows up again. 
Divorce many yrs and dependents are no longer for as long. Each year carried info over fine. 
A software glitch. hmmm

So the better way would have been to try to not carryover previous year. 
Didn’t think of that.
