The dates are entered correctly, mm/dd/yyyy. It doesn't allow to enter any other way. I don't know what short date is, but when I look at the actual form, it is correct.

The Champs above who have many years of experience have already suggested all the likely and unlikely possibilities, so it looks like - if you would - you need to send us a sanitized version of your return so we can see it.
Don't worry about sanitizing the return yourself (i.e., redacting all personally identifiable information), the process I describe below will do it automatically and then give you a token that will point to where your sanitized return is on our data base.
To send us a token, please do the following:
TurboTax Online:
Click Tax Tools in the menu to the left.
Click Tools, and then
Click Share my file with Agent.
A pop-up message will appear. Click OK to send the sanitized diagnostic copy to us.
Provide the token number that is generated onto this thread.
TurboTax Desktop:
Select Online menu if the customer is using Windows. Select “Help” if using a Mac.
Select Send Tax File to Agent.
A pop-up message will appear, and the customer will select, Send. If using Mac "Send Tax File to TurboTax Agent"
Note: Desktop will save a file to your computer unless you uncheck the box.
Another message will appear. Provide the token number that is generated onto this thread.
At the bottom of your reply (with the token) add "@" "BillM223" (without the space in between) so I will be notified.
This will let us see what is happening on your return. Thanks.

Sorry I can't offer more help just by guessing.
I suggest you contact customer support and ask them to look at a diagnostic copy of your tax return. When you send a diagnostic copy all personal information (SSN's, etc) are scrubbed first. I am sure that if they can see the diagnostic copy that they can solve your problem, but shooting in the dark without being able to see anything is getting nowhere.
@BillM223 We both had the same idea at the same time 🙂
Three people from Turbo Tax help desk have logged onto my computer. Not one person has offered what you are talking about here. What will this show that they couldn't see by logging onto my computer?
I'm sure you understand how scary this resolution is. With all of the scams you hear about on the news, sending my taxes to someone on the internet sounds like something people would say 'i can't believe they didn't think this was a scam'.
I have spoken to three Turbo Tax support personnel. All three of them asked for control to my computer. What will this process you are suggesting show that they couldn't see by looking at the tax form on my computer.
I do apologize. I know you are only trying to help. Maybe if I had ever heard about this process you are talking about before I wouldn't be so skeptical.

It is part of the software and has been there for years. The file is only sent to TurboTax in encrypted format and you can save a copy to your computer and review it before posting the token. Nobody, including TurboTax can open the file without having the token key that is displayed on your computer that you must post so the TurboTax employee can open it. Only TurboTax has the file but it is useless without the token. You can post the key openly because no one else has the file.
But suit yourself, we can offer no other help if you want the problem solved.
It is very secure and cannot be hacked.
I hope you can understand that I have no way to know who you are, so am naturally skeptical. With the world as it is and hackers so talented, I couldn't take a chance. I meant no disrespect. I did however try again to contact Turbo Tax and when I finally got to a supervisor, I asked about your resolution. That supervisor transferred me directly to a Turbo Tax CPA specialist who did, in fact, exactly what you suggested. When the sanitized version of the return was run thru their program, it calculated the over 65 correctly, but also came up with totally different results. Turns out that was not the only issue. Numerous areas were not being calculated and figures not put into the form. Seems that my issue this whole time was a corrupted Turbo Tax disk. After downloading a new copy from a link I was given, everything came out fine.
I do appreciate all the help and suggestions I received from you and the community forum. I want to thank you for your suggestion as it was that suggestion that finally led me to an answer.

Glad you got it solved.
Actually, I wish there more like you. You would be surprised to see all of the naive posters here who post their full name, address, phone number and SSN. We have to tell them to edit their post and delete all personal information since this is an open forum that anyone in the world can read and use that information to steal their identity. We even move the post to a secure area that only the moderators can read and we alert the moderators to scrub the post.
