You need a lot more help than we can provide in this forum if you have not been filing tax returns for "5-7" years.

If you had even $400 of self-employment income in a tax year, the law is that you were supposed to be filing a tax return and paying self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare.  You could have prepared a schedule C to deduct your own business expenses.  Depending on how much you earned, you may also owe ordinary income tax for those years.

Each tax year has to be filed on a separate tax return using the forms for that specific year, so there is no such thing as just putting all of your old W-2's on one tax return and sending them in together.  It is too late to receive a tax refund for any tax year earlier than 2016, but if you owe tax due then the IRS still wants you to pay.

You can check to see if there is an order for your federal refund to be seized for your student loan debt:

NOTE: You can contact the IRS Treasury Offset Program Call Center at 1-800-304-3107 to ask if they have an offset for you on file. TurboTax would not have that information.

It is unclear why you have been driving "100 miles one way" -- but commuting to and from work is not deductible--but if you drive during your work day to perform your work -- if self-employed--then you could enter your mileage on a schedule C as a business expense.  But you need some written records to show your mileage and vehicle expenses.

Car parts?  We do not know what you have in mind for claiming car parts.

Court cost and fines are not deductible.

You should seek the help of a local paid tax pro to get your issues sorted out.  The longer you put it off, the worse this will get.

I haven't filed in 5 to 7 years

I stopped reading at that point. Bottom line is, you need face-to-face professional help. This is especially true if your state also taxes personal income. The fact that self-employment is involved makes your situation that much more urgent to take care of yesterday, if not sooner. You can also expect to pay quite a bit in back taxes, interest on those taxes, fines, and late filing penalties for each year you have not filed. So have your checkbook ready while keeping in mind that the professional help is not going to be free either.

Unfortunately, TurboTax is of no use to you for this. Since you were self-employed your tax returns *MUST* be done in year order starting with the oldest one first. Since TurboTax only supports their software for the current tax year (now 2019) and three years back, the TTX program is just not an available option for you.

On top of that, with the massive *MASSIVE* tax law changes that took effect in 2018, your returns will be crossing that boundry. So professional help is not a choice for you really - it's an absolute must.

If you are using the TurboTax online edition you will have to start a new account with a new User ID - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/

The TurboTax online editions can only be used for one tax return per account and User ID.

You can have up to 5 User ID's associated with one email address.
