I had the same problem trying to enter Property Tax. I always enter deductions as so as I get TurboTax and before I get any 1099s. The trick of using Schedule A (accessed via forms option) is a good workaround and avoids the entry bug. I sure hope I do not encounter any more bugs.
Thanks that solved this issue, now just waiting for other updates that are all flag with an update date in the next few weeks. An update did come out today which included some of the state updates, not sure if it solved this problem since I entered the numbers earlier today.
Thanks for posting this
The one thing that would be nice is when they notate the the link is broken so we stop wasting time.
This is now January 9th, and this is first real update in a while
When the screen rolls back to Deductions after selecting Property Tax it's annoying.
This happened as well with another screen
Might have been 1098 T
It wouldn't allow the screen to come up if you clicked directly on it. However, if you wen to "Visit All" I was able to get to the form.
Thanks again for posting.
Ran into this problem as well tonight, with TT Home and Business download version.
I will try going through Schedule A. If that does not work, I will return to this.
I have the Windows Home & Business program. Property tax works for me. Try updating your program. Go up to Online-Check for Updates.
It may be updated now after the 2 or 3 updates we got in the last week or so. We all had to use the form method to update it this year. Main issue was that unlike other sections that are still not ready this one did not have an expected date of update listed. Glad to see it worked for you.
It still doesn't work for me and I have the latest version according to the update feature.
I have been able to enter amounts by going directly to Schedule A in the forms.
Do you work for TurboTax or are you just guessing? Turbo Tax needs to know about this problem and fix it.
No, I do not work for TurboTax and No, I am not guessing. Use of Schedule A works as a workaround for entering Home Property Tax. No, I personally have not reported this problem to TurboTax support. I would expect TurboTax is monitoring this bulletin board so they should be aware of this problem.
no i do NOT. I called them and got no results. I figured a work around. Hope it helps
None of us work for TurboTax and I did open a ticket, generally that gets a look by the team but seldom a reply. I think a lot of this is because of the downsizing last summer and the new push towards AI. Still a great program and I am sure it will be fine. We are simply all commenting because this year has been strange. Over many years I have seen issues, but this year seemed slower to resolve. Many of them are things that February and March filers would experience since often the specific documents they receive tend come mid to late February. January filers are hitting issues this year too which is what prompted most of this.
I have the same problem with entering property tax information. The message appears in the property tax section and then returns be to the menu. This section needs repair!
Similar problems here.
No resolution after 4 weeks of TurboTax updates.
🙁🙁🙁🙁
@ppppppratriotictaxpayer Click on Forms when using the desktop editions. In Forms mode, open the Tax and Interest Deduction Worksheet (Tax & Int Wks) on the left side of the forms mode screen.
Enter the amount of property taxes paid on Line 2 of the worksheet.
Agree this is ridiculous. Everyone using Premier 2024 is having this issue with entering property taxes or even editing them except to manually add them to the form.
