Turbotax desktop says I'm up to date but it is not handling joint ownership yet on
Form 5695 solar credits and keeps telling me to check back. I had completed this already but it disappeared when I went back to complete by taxes this week. When will this be updated.....I'm ready to file but now have to wait.

You can just enter the amount you each paid for the Geothermal unit on each of your returns. That question is not asked on Form 5695 this year.
As of 12Feb 0752 PST I still can't get past the 1st two questions about joint ownership. Prompt comes up that Turbotax is still working on updates. if you run federal smartcheck it tells you Turbotax is still updating the worksheet and you can wait for that or you can enter the numbers yourself and complete Form 5695. I had to buy Turbotax deluxe because of form 5695 and now I have to wait for them to update it to file or do it manually. You have to wonder what is wrong with the worksheet if they let you do it manually....but it won't work with the step-by-step process. will it screw things up anyway....????
I have the same problem (as of 2/14/23). Have been awaiting TT to update this issue since I'd rather e-file. I don't understand the problem.
Please TurboTax people, just fix this!
Taking forever on Form 5695 and worksheet for step-by-step use. Did TT layoff employees to help pay for the 141 million dollar court judgement against them ? Fix this already...... or maybe the thousands of TT users waiting for this form will go elsewhere next year. TT and reviews claim TT is the best software for most users.
If you want to complete your taxes step-by-step with Form 5695.... TT is not the answer now.
When is this getting fixed? I am cannot complete my taxes until I can file form 5695 for my jointly owned home where energy efficiency improvement were made last year!
As of 17Feb TT Form 5695 still not working in step-by-step, they are still working on it.....,,,,,, sure. Fed up I checked a favorite and highly rated free online filing that only charges for states. Yep they have Form 5695 for free and it works. Now do I wait for TT or use the TT 60day satisfaction refund policy and get my money back for TT ...... I'm almost there. I've been a TT user since 1985.....on/off a couple times but always came back. TT is really pushing me to use the competitor. I'm ready to file and want my refund.
As of Feb 19th I've moved on to a another tax service. Tired of waiting to file with TT. Returns have been accepted by Federal and State and I'm on my way to my refunds. I also applied for a refund of TT desktop under their 90day satisfaction guarantee.... How long are you going to wait ?
I try to override the necessary field and then my return gets rejected by the IRS. Ridiculous.
The link provided does not work. C'mon, are you kidding me, Intuit?
Update Feb 27th ..... I received both my Federal and California Tax refund today....having filed them with another online tax service on Feb 19th. Yep, that's when I stopped waiting for TT to fix the joint ownership problem they have with Form 5695. I filed for a refund of the purchase price of TT but they denied it under a bunch of possible reasons blaming me for not submitting it correctly when in fact I asked for a refund of $44.88 and they changed the amount to $75.41 and denied my request as possibly my receipt didn't match. They don't tell you for sure why they denied it. I submitted the refund request again....and again they changed the amount I'm requesting to $75.41 so I'm expecting a rejection again..... I guess I will have to attempt to call them if that happens and if I don't get satisfaction then I will go to the California Attorney General's Office of Consumer Complaints Against Business and then ask for help. So disappointed with TT.
As of the last TurboTax update, most of the known issues with Form 5695 have been resolved.
There is still a calculation issue affecting only joint ownership of the home and claiming one specific credit that is scheduled to be corrected with the next update around March 8th. If this applies to you, see this link and sign up for updates: Why is TurboTax limiting my Home Energy Credit when I have a non-spouse occupant?
If you are still experiencing an issue, please respond with details so that someone may help you get it resolved.
