Issue with IL EITC Not allowing me to e-file

I'm trying to e-file my IL return, and it's making me fix my IL return. I select that button and it says check this entry. Schedule EIC: IL EITC box should be checked. It won't let me e-file without checking this box.

Illinois Expanded EITC Qualifications Questionnaire Smart Worksheet
If you do not qualify for the federal EITC, but do qualify for the Illinois EITC, check this box and
complete the Illinois Expanded EITC Worksheet below.

However, I do not qualify for the Illinois EITC as a retiree with no earned income from employment. Please advise.

If you are still having an issue with the state tax worksheet, try deleting the state and starting over. It shouldn't take long to get all the information back for the state because most of the data feeds from the federal screen.

This is just to make it clear that I have not received help of any value since my original post on Sunday. There's no way that I can find to get help on this issue outside of posting here, unless I pay for live support. Customers should not have to upgrade to live support to get help when Turbo Tax has a product error. I give Turbo Tax zero stars, and will likely never use the product again unless they find a way to resolve my issue quickly and improve their communication.

You have to open the form since it is not been opened yet.   On that same page, scroll up and click on Open Form.   Then expand (click the + next to 2025 - Illinois) Illinois and select the Illinois Earned Income Credit

Follow these steps:

  1. Open to your IL return
  2. Continue through until you see take a look at IL credits and taxes
  3. Locate IL earned income credit,
  4. Start/ enter 'update /revisit
  5. The program will then state that you do not qualify for IL EIC.
  6. While in that screen, switch to FORMS mode
    1. If you are in the IL EIC, great.
    2. If not, go to the top left Open Form, select IL, select EIC and open
  7. Look for pink boxes showing an error and correct them.
  8. Return to step by step and try review again.

Obviously this Issue has been going on a long while.

I'm on desktop version but what I did was click the darned box & hit continue.
Went to revisit Illinois again (credits & taxes) and it was blank and OK now!
For kicks, I went back again to try to click the box and it yelled at me saying I'm not qualified for EITC.

I guess try that?   TURBOTAX - FIX THIS
