Hi tax expert,
I entere rental property depreciation data at Sch E. I reviewed form 4562 and noticed that the building depreciation data is on line 17 instead of on line 19h.
Please advise how to move the data from line 17 to line 19h?
I use TurboTax desktop version by the way.

When did you place the rental property into service? Did you enter that date?
I put the the rental in service in year 2013. it is about 11 years ago.
line 17 says depreciation for assets place in service before 2023. line 19 is for assets placed in service in the current year.
My situation is :
1. Line 17 did not show the histry data.
2. Current year data is supposed to show on line 19 h but is shown on line 17.
I do not know how to fix the issues. Can anybody do the remote screen share help?
Did you read Mike's post? Line 19 is only for NEW assets added in 2023. Line 17 is right for existing assets. Do you want to see the Asset History? Form 4562 is just a Summary of the Depreciation for the current year and doesn't list the items.
The history is only available in the Desktop program not the Online version. If you are using the Online version you would have to download your .tax2023 file and open it in the desktop program.
Using the Desktop program you can get an Asset Life History worksheet but you have to do it in Forms Mode, click Forms in the upper right (upper left for Mac) You can't get detailed worksheet showing all the assets but you can get the Asset Life History on each one. It doesn't print out with your return or save in the pdf. So you have to print each Asset Life History individually.
Oh you have the Desktop program? Here are a couple screen shots
@csdl2024 Are you using the Desktop Business program like for a Estate/Trust return? Or the personal Home & Business version? You selected Business on another post. The separate Business program may work different and be different screen shots. And you may have to enter some things using Forms mode.
Hi Volvogirl,
Thank you so much for your valuable help and detail guidance. I found the asset life history at Form session.
It is wonderful;)
