What tax year are you referring to?
If you have earned income and a dependent child under the age of 17 you would be eligible for the Child Tax Credit. Providing you answered the questions concerning the dependent child correctly.
It would be included in any federal tax refund you received.
On a 2019 tax return the credit is entered on Form 1040 Line 13a.
On a 2020 tax return the credit is entered on Form 1040 Line 19
There are 6 possible reasons; you aren’t getting the Child Tax credit (CTC). It’s usually #4:
Previously it was $75,000 for single, head of household, and qualifying widow or widower filers; and $110,000 for joint filers.

2021
@Gerry joiner You posted "2021" to a thread that began in January BEFORE the tax laws changed. What are you trying to ask about? You did not really ask a question. If you are trying to ask about the new enhanced monthly child tax credit payments here is some information about eligibility and some links.
That CTC increase is not for 2020; it is for 2021. Your 2020 return does not have to be amended for it.
There will be monthly child tax credit payments going out beginning in July 2021, with some of the CTC still left as a refundable credit on your 2021 tax return next year.
