I have a 2 year old and a current 7 month old who was born on December 19th 2020. I claimed both kids on my taxes this year but only received 300 for my child tax credit last week. Shouldn't I have received 600 for both kids? When I called IRS they were uncertain of an answer.

If you make under 75000 single or 150000 married you should have got it already!for some reason i did not get mine either :(.
This is a brand new system thrown together by the IRS after Congress changed tax laws in the middle of the tax season. There are going to be bugs, glitches and mistakes made and folks will unfortunately have to be patient until they sort it out.
If you do not receive the monthly payments you will be able to get the CTC on your 2021 tax return.

Following! My families income is WAY below the marker and for some reason I only received $250 for my son. And STILL waiting on the stimulus for my son, as well as income tax. IMO if they can't get their numbers right then they shouldn't make promises they can't keep 🤷♀️

The advance Child Tax Credit being distributed by the IRS would only be $250 per child if the child is age 6 thru age 17 in 2021.
