charitable contributions has an unacceptable value

Product: Turbotax desktop; Filling status: Married filing jointly

Worksheet 1040-SR line 12b: I donated more than USD 600 and the correct donation amount (>600) is shown on line 12a. On line 12b, Turbotax enters 300, which is wrong. It needs to be 600 for married filing jointly. Therefore, an error appears that line 12b (300) has an unacceptable value. The error goes away when I enter 600, which is the correct value for married filing jointly.

PROBLEM: When I run the final error check before filing, Turbotax again enters 300 into line 1040SR line 12b and throws me into an infinite loop. Therefore the online solution to the error described above does not work, the error appears again when running the error check. Is there a known workaround?

Since this seems to be a known problem, will this be fixed (and when) or should I ask for my money back and file a handwritten paper return instead because Turbotax cannot fix this error? Thanks!

 Please try these steps below to enter the charitable cash contribution for 12b. Please make sure you have not entered anything Charitable donations under Deductions & Credits.

1. Open your return
2. Click "Federal"
3. Click “Deductions &Credits” on the top
4. Click "I'll choose what to work on" (do not enter any donations under Charitable donations)
5. Scroll all the way down and click the "Done with deductions" button
6. Continue after the "The Standard Deduction is right for you!" screen
7. Continue until the "Get a tax break for donating cash to charity" screen
8. Enter your charitable cash contributions (do not enter more than $600)
