I am new to Turbo Tax and am disappointed to see from prior posts that 8283 may not be auto efiled with my electronic 1040 federal return. Yet the IRS demands that this is done for folks that need to fill out a 8283. To me, this defeats the purpose of my switching over to Turbo Tax as I will have to manually file my taxes now.
I know that attaching form 8283 to an electronic 1040 return can be done as my Tax Accountant does it. This form is growing in popularity. I am surprised that Turo Tax has not yet fixed this issue.
Is this still true or have you all fixed this for 2024?
Thanks so much for your help!

For tax year 2024, the Form 8283 Noncash Charitable Contributions can be e-filed according the forms availability website here - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
Why is this an ongoing issue?
There were issues with 8283 last year, the form hasn't been revised, per the IRS website since 12/2023.
$500 isn't a high threshold anymore, I donate a few pieces of clothing, and some books, and I'm over the limit. Two years in a row with the same forms, same issues, and no IRS revisions to blame it on.
Been a TT filer since it was a DOS program; wondering if it's time to jump ship.
@AndyBflo The IRS Form 8283 Noncash Charitable Contributions for tax year 2024 is estimated to be available for both e-filing and printing on 02/06/2025.

I'm aware.
It was 1/30 yesterday.
Last year it made sense; new form, Intuit needed time to code it. Matter of fact for TY23, they released a form that was incorrect, and I filed on/about 2/5/24. Then the IRS and my state rejected the form, TT fixed it, and I filed a few weeks later. Annoying, but I realize taxes are complex, and things happen.
This year? It's a 14-mo old form at this point.
Thanks for your responses on this 8283 form. We really appreciate it.
Being new to TT, I am a little concerned that the date for the 8283 form availability keeps slipping. It was 1/16, then I think 1/25, then 1/30 I think, then now 2/6. Do I have any guarantee from you that this form will indeed be ready to file this year in time?
Thanks for your help!
Turbotax is now estimating this form will not be ready until 2/13, Clearly they are having challenges with the form and, as someone already pointed out, this is not due to IRS updates. This is my last year using Turbotax. The competition is crushing Turbotax now so there are too many options to be waiting for Turbotax to get the forms ready for filing. And, they have increased their prices too! Definitely not worth it.
Ditto.
I'll actually be seeking a refund on TT2024, and I'll be switching to H&R Block hereafter. The product does not do what it was advertised to do.
Easily a 30y customer, who uses Quickbooks, Quicken, and TT as an integrated ecosystem. Good news is? H&R imports from those two, as well, and has a competitor to ItsDeductible.
It's been fun, Intuit. Thanks for the memories.
I am with you. I have used TT for years but this is my last year, and I plan on just switching to another application and not even using TT this year. This is ridiculous. High prices and dates pushed out for a form.
Form 8283 is scheduled to be released and available tomorrow, February 5th.
8283 says its available to e-file (2/5) but it wont let you when you try, it says you need to print it out and get a signature then paper file.
I called and asked if this was going to be changed to how they did it last year... let you efile but send the form separately. The woman didn't seem to know so I just asked for a refund. Will be using a different tax software going forward.
I am having the exact same issue and was able to efile with form 8283 last year. Does anyone know if this will be corrected for us to efile?
The form is available, but TurboTax will not allow me to efile the return with the form. Will this be corrected?
This was updated and should no longer be a problem. Make sure you software is up-to-date. If you still have the problem, you may need to do a manual update.
I appreciate your response but I updated the software and tried to Efile again. It is still stating that I have to mail it in. Any other information you can provide on correcting the issue?
