WI married couple credit figure

WI married couple credit doesn't look like it's being figured correctly by turbotax...anyone else notice this?

There is not a married couple credit on a federal tax return.  Are you referring to a state tax return?

Standard deductions for 2020 on a federal tax return -

  • Single - $12,400 add $1,650 if age 65 or older
  • Married Filing Separately - $12,400 add $1,300 if age 65 or older
  • Married Filing Jointly - $24,800 add $1,300 for each spouse age 65 or older
  • Head of Household - $18,650 add $1,650 if age 65 or older

Yes, I am having the same issue for our Wisconsin state return. The Married Couple Credit is, in fact, still on the Wisconsin 2020 I-010 Form 1, but Turbotax is not giving this credit as an option to me, even though both myself and my spouse are employed and have received this credit in the past. This appears to be an error on Turbotax's part. Does anyone know how we can add this credit to our return?

The credit automatically adds to line 15 of your WI state Form 1 return once you put in a Married Filing Joint status and enter W2 wages for both spouses.  There no inputs directly to a form for this credit.

Use the form view to see the WI form 1 in desktop products.

To see the WI tax summary in TurboTax online

  1. Click "Tax Tools" in the left hand menu
  2. Click "Tools"
  3. Click "View Tax Summary"
  4. Click "Preview My 1040" in the left hand menu
  5. Click "WI Tax Summary

You should see a form 1 credit.

WI married couple credit figure

Hi,

I have the same issue, and because I've already paid, am unable to delete my WI state return and start over. I'm using Form 1NPR, and don't see any credit for the Married Couple Credit. What else can I do to fix this issue?

A specialist helped me over the phone, it turns out that one of my W2's was incorrectly set to the wrong state.

See the above thread.  Make sure all of your W2s reflect that Wisconsin is the state.
