I'm snail mailing my return because of this. TurboTax Deluxe for Mac. Not looking for a solution, just want to make the TurboTax people aware of this issue.
When I did my Maryland taxes, TurboTax said there were no errors, and allowed me to e-file. Maryland rejected my e-filing because line 18 on form 502UP has to match the sum of anything on line 17. There were amounts in all four boxes on line 17 (the first being a zero), but line 18 was zero.
I did the addition myself and overrode what was in line 18. TurboTax then said there were errors on the return, and that I couldn't e-file it now, because I'd overridden that line. Some of the wording made it sound like I could still e-file, but I ultimately ended up in a fix-the-error-or-else loop.
(Clearly I did not review the form closely enough before sending, but I still would've ended up in this situation - just without having done (and paid for) the first e-filing.)
