Turbotax Deluxe 2023 - tried to efile 4 states

Dear Turbotax Community,

Unfortunately, I have four state returns to file due to my husband's position as a traveling construction superintendent. When I went to efile my federal with NC, IN, MD, and MI return, I receive a message about only being able to file three states at which point it gives me a back button to uncheck one of the states. Is it a limit on how many at once only?   Or, max limit period with the software?   If it is only at once, do I uncheck one of the states and then I have to wait until my federal is accepted before I file my fourth state?  Appreciate any guidance.

In the Desktop program you can efile 3 different states for 1 federal return.  If you have more states you can print and mail the rest.  So uncheck one to not efile.

It is not going to let you e-file more than three state returns.  The 4th one will need to be filed by mail instead.

Using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions only 3 state returns can be e-filed attached to a federal tax return.  All other state returns will have to be printed and mailed when attached to the federal return.
