How is "Other Income Taxes" under "Deduction and Credits" used?

When I click on the number in blue with the underline in "Other Income Taxes" under "Deduction and Credit", it shows "Federal withholding" + "State withholding" + "State Mandatory Taxes".

1.  What is "State Mandatory Tax"? Where does this number come from?

2. How is "Other Income Taxes" used? which form would I see this number?  thanks,

The "Other Income Taxes" field includes the following taxes paid during the current tax year:

  1. Federal Tax Withholding (from Form W-2, 1099, and W2-G).
  2. State Tax Withholding & State Mandatory Taxes (from Form W-2, 1099, and W2G).
  3. Tax Payments made when filing an extension.
  4. Last year's refunds applied to this year's taxes.
  5. Any other federal, state or local tax payments.
  • Taxes paid with amendments.
  • Taxes paid for prior year balances due.
  • Other taxes withheld but not reported on Form W-2,1099, and W-2G.

The Tax Payments Worksheet, abbreviated "Tax Payments" on the list of forms. This worksheet (ws) is not filed with your actual tax forms. It's for your records (like all ws). Where your entry ends up  on the tax forms (if it even goes on the forms) depends on what kind of payment it was. For example: if you made a federal  payment when you filed an extension, it goes on line 70 of form 1040.
