This is the third time I've post my problem. I've talked to support twice with no resolution. I purchase TTPremier for my desktop from Amazon and downloaded it & updated. When I go to file and pay for my state efile to California, the payment screen doesn't work. None of the links work. So I can't pay, which means I haven't been able to file my taxes. Support sent me an online coupon, but I can only use it once, and I have to enter in everything I already entered again manually. I paid for 1 state filing free, and efiling for federal for many. Can anyuone recommend what I should do now? Turbo Tax doesn't seem to want to fix this problem.

This issue can be resolved by going to your DISPLAY setting and select a lower resolution than the one you are at. Depending on your computer display, Turbo tax sometimes does not work with your highest resolution setting, resulting in shift in the button location causing it not to work. You will need to close the tax file and open again for the new setting to take effect.
THANK YOU !! After 3 weeks in TurboTax limbo, that seemed to do the trick. However, for people like me, I'll be a bit more specific. The setting to be changed are on your computer, not in the TurboTax app or your browser. Go to your computer settings. Select, 'System' and then 'Display'. Scroll all the way down until you reach 'Scale & Layout', and then 'Display Resolution'. The default on mine was 3840x2160 and I changed it to 1280x800. THen close TurboTax and reopen under the new settings. The screen looks clunky and is smaller, but the payment window was live and redirectly me to TurboTax payment site. I paid, saved it and when I went back to file later, I had to pay again. I ahouldn't have had to pay anything, but I needed to get it filed. I can't believe that a glitch like this got past QA. It caused a lot of grief. Thanks again and I'm grateful for your help.
Please try to reach back out to TurboTax Customer Support and explain what is happening. They should be able to send you a push to update your software or assist with troubleshooting steps.
What is the TurboTax phone number?
As I stated in my original post, I've already done that twice - on the phone for a total of 3 hours. I guess I'll try again. Meanwhile, my taxes and my step-daughter's taxes are done on my hard drive, and there's no way to transfer the completed files on my hard drive to the online version. Or, to transfer my 2019 files to the online version. Next year, H&R Block.

I am having the same problem - unable to efile Ohio since I am unable to continue to payment screen. I have spent hours on the phone with Turbotax and received some support, but I just called and the agent was not able to help me. I am going to try the resolution change and see if that works.
This is crazy! I’ve read hundreds of community posts for 37 days in a row and this is the very first time I’ve seen this problem with high resolution mentioned. It actually doesn’t affect anything I have done the past 5 weeks (other Federal glitches] but I am struggling greatly with my State return on Deluxe Desktop software. Thank you for spelling out the steps on our personal computers to adjust Display. Since all our old TT returns are stored on my dec’d husband’s computer, I am having to not only figure out Windows 10, but I wouldn’t have had a clue how to reduce Display with out googling it. I’ve saved a screen shot on my iPad. Two thumbs up.
Thank you for this! It’s the first time I read about high resolution being a possible cause for problems. You should post a general community letter with HIGH RESOLUTION PROBLEM in the heading. Thank you.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Closed my turbotax and then changed the display setting and went back to pay for my state efiling and viola it worked. I can't believe and company the size on Intuit can't find an answer this is issue.
Makes me want to question what other "issues" they have with their TurboTax program that I'm unaware of.
I was unable to efile Ohio State Tax. I received a blank page when I attempted to use charge card. I turned off my NordVPN and it worked like a charm.
On Friday, I started the E-file process for my 2020 tax return (06-25-2021. It all went went through the Federal return but, in e-filing the State (CA) return, I was asked to pay a $25 fee...... I have Turbo Tax Deluxe, why do I have to pay??
In the interest of time, I just wanted to get both tax returns filed. So, I continued with the State e-file; only to find out payment could not be made with a debit card.....AND I could not access the verification code......
NOW, I HAVE ANOTHER POSSIBLE PROBLEM: I tried e-filing the State, today (06-27-2021) but Turbo Tax took me back to the Federal e-filing and indicated the filing date is now 06-27-2019, NOT the original input date of 06-25-2012. Has the Federal return been e-filed, already or not ?? Do I need to start over with e-filing both, Federal and State Tax returns?? Please Advise, ASAP.
FYI, I purchased the 2020 Turbo Tax via Amazon.com.
Thank you,

Even if the payment screen for the $25 state efiling fee only says "credit card", it should take a debit card if it has the Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express logo.
In the desktop software there is a $25 fee to efile a state return (except no fee for New York state, and there is no fee to print and mail a state return.). If you choose to efile, be aware it's best to pay that $25 fee by credit/debit card. If you choose to pay it out of your Federal refund, there is an additional $45 service fee in California ($40 in other states.)
TurboTax should tell you when you open your return if you have efiled the Federal return and the status. If you had already efiled the Federal return, you would have had to have specifically selected to efile only the Federal by itself and not efile the state.
You can also check this way (this method is for the Windows version; it will likely vary a bit in the Mac version.). Open your return and in the top left corner of the interface click on FILE menu, then choose Electronic Filing, then choose Check Electronic Filing Status. You can also look at Show Electronic Filing Status History while you're there.
