I am receiving a message that my MA State Return is ineligible for e-Filing because return is a "non-calendar year return". I have worked in Massachusetts from March 2016 to present and have used Turbo Tax from 2017 to present. I have never encountered this issue before and have previously been able to e file my returns without any issue.

Experiencing the same thing.
Try deleting the dates or not not inputting any date when filling out Form 1 (about the taxable year).
This should allow the form to default to the entire year.
It apears that my non calendar year tax return problem may be the way I filled out the insurance question on Mass. taxes. However, I am not sure how to correct this. I have Medicare A & B and I also have Tufts Preferred Medicare HMO. I have tried just checking Medicare and also tried checking that and including Tufts. Both ways say iI have a non calencar year tax return. Boy am I confused. The only error that comes up is on this section.
Great finding.
It works!
Thank you!
Never seen this error before "MA Not Eligible for E Filing - Return is a Non Calendar Year Return". What Turbotax is complaining about. In past I have filed MA State Tax electronically. Is it because I am using my new computer for Turbotax this year? What I am missing?
When I view State Form 1, at very top is a field to enter dates in case you need to enter dates other than calendar year. For some reason, the work "rent" was in one of the fields. When I deleted the word and closed the form the problem went away.
please tell me where is form 1
Go to the menu at the top, select View, then Select Forms (or Ctrl + 2 )
Scroll down to Massachusetts Individual on the left pane.
Click Form 1 and it will appear.
Clearing the date at teh top of form one did the trick. Thank you. Very frustrating, as TurboTax had identified that as needing to be filled in.
I've been using turbo tax for years and this is the first year I cannot e-file mu Mass return because it is a "Non-Calendar year return. What calendar are you using?
It is possible the forms needed for your return are not available.
Please see this Turbo Tax FAQ on State forms availability for personal use.
State forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products.
State forms availability table for TurboTax Business.
Deleting the dates at the top of Form 1 and saving the return worked for me. Apparently the date fields were populated with my part year resident dates.

Thank you, it worked. Unfortunately I wasted about one hour with a turbotax customer "diservice" and after going repeatedly through the same loop, she started throwing at me nonosense instead of admiting she does not know how to fix it. She could have searched your findings.
You're very welcome!
