I'm also in Sarpy county (# 77) and have a 9-digit parcel number. TT is telling me it is invalid and needs to be 10 digits. This appears to be erroneous and should be updated in TT to allow parcel numbers in Sarpy county to be 9 digits.
I'm having the same problem but filing from Lancaster and it's supposed to be ten digits -- my property tax id is shown as 13 digits with three 0's on the end. I've tried it with all 13 digits and with just 10 -- the three 0's left off, but TT considers it an error and won't let me e-file. I've tried numerous messages to the "Digital Assistant" but to no avail. I've printed and can mail my return, but feel like I've paid to be able to e-file -- and of course can find no way to contact TT directly.
You can follow the instructions here to contact Turbo Tax directly. @deaconjoe
I followed the directions to contact TT directly and after a couple of references to topics that did not provide answers, I was told that I would receive a phone call within 5 minutes. Never got the call .... maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
Hello fellow frustrated Nebraskan. I just ran into this problem as well. I kept double-checking the Parcel ID number. It is correct and has the correct number of digits according to NE. But is was not accepted by turbotax. So, I added zeros before my ID number "00-00-XXX-XXX-XXX." All I can tell you is that turbotax accepted the new number. Hopefully Nebraska will accept it too. My fingers are crossed. Good luck to you.
So, I'm Washington Country (29 on license plates) but according to the NE DMV I'm county 89. Look up the actual county number at: https://revenue.nebraska.gov/about/county-parcel-id-search. This fixed my issue.
Please add three zeros at the end.
County #59 is NOT Madison County; it's Sarpy County in Nebraska
The Nebraska Property Look-up Tool lists the counties in alphabetical order and they are numbered in alphabetical order. For instance, Adams County is number 01, Lancaster County is number 55.
TurboTax is simply following what the Nebraska Dept of Revune has used for county numbers. You are likely referring to the county numbers the Dept of Motor Vehicles assigned as county numbers, which most of us are familiar with.
I am currently attempting to e-fil for me 2022 taxes, but i'm stuck. PTC is asking for a 10 digit parcel number. I live in Lancaster County Nebraska and my parcel number consists of 13 digits xx-xx-xxx-xxx-xxx. Confirmed the numbers with the treasurer and assessors office. Turbo Tax please fix this issue!
HI was wondering how did you format it? Did you by chance changes the first two numbers to the DMV county code? thank you
Leave off the last three digits. They should all be zeros.
We had that same problem. Kept saying that our parcel number ID was 10 digits. We went to the website to see what our county (Lancaster) was in the alphabetical list. We were #55. Went back in and changed it and problem solved.
A 9 digit parcel number is correct for Sarpy County (59) Nebraska. A fix is needed for turbo tax.
We had the same issue. We live in Lancaster county (02) but listed as a different number on https://revenue.nebraska.gov/about/county-parcel-id-search
they are in alphabetical order. Use this number and that should fix it.
